New Horse Purchase Examinations

Basic New Horse Assessment– The perfect way to give your new horse a full check-up, ensure that their teeth are up to date and ask one of our veterinary surgeons any questions or concerns that you may have. 

Basic Price : 130€ (discounted for 1st time registrations from 155€)

The assessment includes:

• Physical exam– this includes listening to the heart, lungs and gastrointestinal tract, checking the temperature and checking the eyes
• Dental examination and teeth rasping 
• Blood sampling and assessment of haematology and biochemistry in our in- house laboratory
• Orthopaedic check-up, including palpation of the horse, trot up and flexion tests
• Registration at the clinic

Performance New Horse check – For competition and racehorses that have been recently purchased. 

Basic price: 450€ (Reduced from 650€ for 1st time registrations)

The assessment includes:

• Physical exam
• Orthopaedic exam including trot up, flexion tests
• 44 X-rays of legs
• Blood tests (x 2) before and after exercise
• Registration at the clinic

Optional add-ons

• Ultrasound exam to detect soft tissue problems in legs and in back
• ECG while training to determine heart and physical training condition
• Endoscopy including assessment of the stomach and the airway
• Xrays of back for possible skeletal defects
